Omada ER706W AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit VPN Router

Overview

The ER706W is an all-in-one gateway: a multi-WAN VPN router and a Wi-Fi 6 access point in one desktop unit. Instead of a router, a separate access point and a controller box, a small office gets routing, VPN and wireless from a single device — fewer cables, one thing to manage, one thing to power.

Key features

• On the wired side it has five Gigabit RJ45 ports plus a Gigabit SFP, all configurable between WAN and LAN, so a site can run fibre, wireless broadband and a second ISP side by side with load balancing and failover.
• A USB 3.0 port takes a 4G/LTE dongle as a backup uplink, or a drive for storage.
• NAT throughput reaches around 945 Mbps with 150,000 concurrent sessions.
• For remote sites and staff working off-site, it handles IPsec (up to 100 tunnels), OpenVPN, SSL VPN, L2TP, PPTP, GRE and WireGuard, with firewall policies, DoS defense and IP/MAC/URL filtering for perimeter security.
• The wireless side is Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 dual-band — 2402 Mbps on 5GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4GHz — through three external antennas, and Omada Mesh lets it link up with compatible Omada access points to extend coverage. It joins the Omada SDN platform for centralised cloud or controller management, or can be managed from the Omada app for a single-site job.
