The EAP653 delivers the same real-world Wi-Fi 6 capability as the EAP670 — AX3000 dual-band (2,402 Mbps on 5GHz, 574 Mbps on 2.4GHz), 250+ concurrent clients, up to 1,500 sq ft (140 sqm) of coverage — over a standard Gigabit port instead of 2.5G. For a room that isn't pushing multi-gigabit wired traffic to begin with, that's not a real-world downgrade, just a lower price for capacity most sites will actually use. Security and management match the rest of the range rather than being cut down for the lower price point: WPA3 encryption, up to 16 SSIDs, and rogue AP detection to flag an unauthorized access point trying to impersonate the network. Mesh and seamless roaming mean a phone moving between EAP653s on a floor doesn't drop the connection mid-call. Flexible power delivery — 802.3at PoE, 12V DC, or 48V passive PoE — means it fits into more existing wiring than an AP that only accepts one input type. Like every Omada AP it joins the same SDN controller for centralized, one-dashboard management alongside switches and gateways.
