The EAP655-Wall solves the specific problem of getting real Wi-Fi 6 coverage into a hotel room, serviced apartment, or office where a ceiling- or wall-mounted access point would look out of place — it installs directly into a standard wall junction box in place of a blank plate, so from a few feet away it just looks like part of the wall.
Despite the compact form factor it's a genuine AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 radio: 574 Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5GHz with 160MHz channel support, rated for 120+ concurrent clients across roughly 600 sq ft (50 sqm) of coverage — enough for a single hotel room and its immediate surroundings, or a small home office. Four Gigabit ports (1 uplink, 3 downlink) mean it can also patch a TV, desktop, or set-top box directly into the wired network without a separate wall socket, and one downlink port supports PoE pass-through so a second PoE device — a camera or phone — can be powered from the same run.
Like the rest of the Omada range it joins cloud, hardware, or software-controller management with zero-touch provisioning, plus mesh and seamless roaming so guests moving between rooms stay on the same network without a drop. WPA3 and up to 16 SSIDs cover both guest and staff networks from the same device, and 802.3af/at PoE power means a single Ethernet run handles both data and power.
